2009 Episode the event is over...... See you people next time....
FOSS Meet@NITC is an annual event on Free and Open Source Software at NIT Calicut. This event brings together FOSS enthusiasts from all over India. The 2009 edition of the event is scheduled to be held from Feb 27^th to 1^st March.FOSSMeet @ NITC is jointly organised by NIT Calicut Student Branches of IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers), CSI(Computer Society of India), CSEA(Computer Science and Engineering Association),FOSSCELL NITC and FSUG Calicut(free software user's group) .

Though just four years old, the Meet has grown in magnitude, in terms of speakers, delegates, number of days, outreach and budget over each successive year. The name of the meet has gone through annual modifications, due to various reasons.

The Free/Libre Open Source Software (FLOSS) Meet 2005 was a single day event, with just a handful of speakers. FOSS.NITC 2006 was a two-day event, with 11 speakers. FOSS Meet @ NITC 2007 evolved into a three-day event, with over 40 speakers, several workshops, and including sessions on blogging, wiki editing etc.In the 2008 edition of the meet Video Conference as well as FOSSDev is introduced. FOSSMeet @ NITC 2009 is the fifth edition of this event.

This year we have joined hands with MEC to conduct FOSSMEET@MEC'09 which took place on Jan25^th.
