Sarath Lakshman

Sarath Lakshman is a 20 year old guy bitten by Linux bug during his teenage. He is pursuing his Computer Science and Engineering at Model Engineering College, Cochin, Kerala. He blogs at http://www.sarathlakshman.info/.
He is a life hacker who loves to explore innovations. He is a GNU/Linux enthusiast and Free and Open Source Software promoter. He spends most of his time hacking with computers. The Free and Open Source Software projects he has worked with are Fedora Project, PiTiVi Video editor, SLYNUX GNU/Linux distro, Swathantra Malayalam Computing, School-Admin, Istanbul and Pardus Project. Since October 2008, He writes articles on LinuxForYou Magazine on various domains under GNU/Linux platform.
About his session

He will host a split session with Binny V A on the topic Kick Start with Django Web Development.
Scope of the Session: The talk aims at introducing the Django web development platform to newbies who had already made their hands dirty with web programming. It would cover from basic Django framework installation to how to get started with coding. The talk will teach how to write Django applications for fun and real stuff. It also aims at illustrating various features of Django framework.
Intended Target Audience: Enthusiasts who would like to learn how to write web applications, Beginners
Prerequisites: Basic understanding of HTML, database connectivity, web programming
Hiran Venugopalan

A Computer Science Engineering graduate, Hiran is an active member of the FOSS Community.
He now runs a company on usability and interaction interface designing named Ubiqurio. He was speaker at FOSSMeets 2007 and 2008 conducted in NIT Calicut. He got the Google Summer of Code in 2007.

He will be conducting a workshop on Inkscape - a Vector Graphics Editor, similar to Adobe Illustrator that strives to be open source, responsive and extensible.

Pradeepto is a FOSS enthusiast and a well known contributor to the KDE Project.

He will be conducting a workshop on Qt - a cross-platform application and UI framework.
Shabbir Kheriwala
Shabbir is a FOSS enthusiast. He has 5 year+ experience on Java technologies and one and a half years experience on
Android. Currently he is looking into Palm-Pre Web OS. He also works at Geodesic Limited.

He will conduct a workshop on 'Developing applications using Android' which is a mobile operating system running on Linux Kernel.
CATFOSS
This is a group of students from CATFOSS Batch 2009-10, who have developed a LAN chat messenger named "SWAN-TALK" in python.
About their workshop
They will present a demo of their project SwanTalk and will conduct a tutorial on Application development using python-twisted and Qt. Their session is intended to provide a guidance for the newbies in free software development.

They will be conducting a workshop titled "Blender Basics" which will give an introduction to Blender - a 3D modeling and animation software released as free - and its interfacing, and teach you how to create a beginner 3D scene covering all the basic aspects of modeling, texturing lighting and rendering.
